Presented by Trevor van Gorp
Emotion has become an important consideration in the design and development process. When we use products, websites and software applications, we experience complex emotional responses that are no different from the responses we experience when we interact with real people, in the real world.
While science has shown that emotion can unconsciously influence our decisions and have profound affects on our lives, the subjective nature of emotions has led many to believe it’s impossible to “design for emotion”. In this presentation, designers and UX professionals will learn to identify users’ emotional needs and focus their design solutions on those priorities. You’ll learn to incorporate emotion and personality into your designs to increase user engagement while improving loyalty and satisfaction.
This isn’t just another talk on design theory; it’s a practical introduction to the reasons you should be considering emotion in your design process. Illustrative examples will help you understand how the different dimensions of design affect the different dimensions of users’ emotions.
