Lead by YOU!
I bet you know something that others want to learn from you. Or you want to put an idea out there and have a discussion about it. The Unconference portion of UXCamp is about peer-to-peer learning. That means we need both speakers and spectators!
How to participate as a speaker:
- Put your name and topic on the list the morning of the event.
- Plan to give a 1 minute (yes, 60 seconds only!) pitch to the audience.
- Everyone will vote on the talks they want to hear.
- Depending on the number of talks, you’ll have up to 15-20 mins to speak and lead discussion.
- No slides. But props are welcome.
Start thinking of topics you want to talk about, and, on the morning of the event, sign yourself up as a speaker. If you want early feedback on your idea, tweet @uxyeg with hashtag #unconf.
Here are some format ideas to get the juices flowing:
- 5 minute talk followed by interactive discussion.
- Facilitate a group discussion on an interesting topic.
- Pose a question that you don’t know the answer to and want to talk about.
- “Link” and Tell. A variation of show and tell where you share a link to your wicked cool product or site to get conversation going.
- Teach the room about something by using the time to share your knowledge and experience.
Be brave!
